What is a Homeowners Insurance Policy?

Homeowners Insurance Policy

[hohm-oh-ners / in-shoo r-uh ns / pol-uh-see]

noun

1.

Homeowners Insurance is an insurance policy that protects you in the event a tragedy or disaster strikes your home. A Homeowners Insurance Policy is distinct from a Dwelling Fire Policy because a Homeowners Policy covers not only the physical structure of your home (the dwelling) but also the belongings inside (since it assumes that that the policyholder is the one living in the insured home).
